Bristol Poker League Pairs Game Result

20 teams started in our first ever Pairs game in The Fire Engine on August 1st.

The first team out was Sammy J and Dale.

We paid out the top 4 places, and the husband and wife team of Mark "Koi" and Sarah "Bird" Carpenter were the unlucky 5th placed finishers on the bubble.

Lazy Ace and Jake finished third, Snooze and Little Rich were third, which left me and my wife Lyndsay facing the massive chip stack of Riverman and Dan da Man.

We did fight back to take a few chips off them, but when Dan pushed all in, I couldn't fold Ace-Queen off suit.

Dan turned over pocket 5's and when the first card on the flop was a third 5 it meant "Team Lawson" were drawing almost dead.

Congrats! I'm not sure Dan and Paul had a team name as they only decided to be partners about 10 minutes before the game started!

I really enjoyed the day and thought the format worked really well. We will almost certainly be doing another one of these!
