Bristol Poker League Summer 2010 Champions Game Result

Saturday August the 21st saw 34 players attempting to join the elite group of people who have previously become a "Champion of Champions"

This game normally is a "winner takes all" tournament, but this time we asked if people wanted to put £2 into a side pot and 32 of the players decided they did. This meant we paid out the top 4 finishers a small amount of cash, and the winner got the trophy itself as well.

First player out of the game was Matt "Scarface" Card, with Mark "Vern" Vernoum shortly behind him. One of our previous winners of this game, Dale Ralston was out third and so it went until we reached the final table of 8, and the result was as follows....

The heads up battle saw 2 regulars from the Good Intent battling it out. Tony and Stefferz had both been severely short stacked during the game, with one notable hand being when Stefferz was all in and looking in real trouble holding Q-3 on a Q-Q-6-7 board against Chris Jensen who was holding Q-J with only the river to come.... Fortunately a 6 popped up splitting the pot!

Stefferz never really looked back from that split pot and went on to add the Champions trophy to the Final trophy he picked up at The Fire Engine in July. Congrats!
