Scott Evans, the August Champion at The Green Dragon, arrived later in the afternoon to collect his trophy and watch the final hands.

Lyn Golding's trophy was taken home by her son Darren.

Greyhound champion for July - Julie Edgeworth

Fire Engine Champion for July - Mark Carpenter. Mark received a special RED piece of Bristol Blue Glass as he has now won the Fire Engine league twice.

We also gave Mark a trophy to reward his win in our first final for the May league, as at the time we didn't give out a trophy to the winner of the finals game, and now we do!

Scott Evans and George Williams, the winner and runners up in the June Finals tournament. 47 people started and we went right down to a cracking heads up where the lead changed hands several times before it seemed to be all over when George went down to his last 1000 chip and the blinds were 2 and 4 thousand. Undaunted George doubled up 4 times in quick succession to look like staging an unbelievable comeback. It wasn't to be though when Scotts K-Q hit a Queen on the board to beat Georges A-3.

June 6th 2006 - Finals Day

Mark Carpenter - Winner of the Fire Engine league in May 2006 completes a remarkable double by then going on to win the final against a very strong field of 28 other players. Here he is holding both the league winners trophy AND the prize for the winner of the grand final: £250.00 worth of Argos vouchers. Very well played Mark. May 22nd - the Fire Engine saw the first Royal flush of the season. Lyndsay Hill-Lawson's King of Diamonds matched the flop perfectly for the best hand you can have in poker! Congratulations to her.
