8 almost full teams took part in the irregularly scheduled team game on Saturday the 24th of October in The George and Dragon. In the end the team Julie and I put together mockingly called "The BPL Allstars" romped home 12 points ahead of The Bull. With these two teams winning 7 of the 8 tables, the result boiled down to a couple of bad tables for The Bull and consistent high scoring from The Allstars. (Well, apart from Ryan)
This is the results grid:
I have no idea when the next team game will be. It is a lot of organising to get it played, and with only 10 pubs managing to get teams this time, it was a bit disappointing numbers wise. Perhaps a rethink of the format or just inviting the 8 most supported pubs to play is the way forward instead of two semi finals.
Rest assured, if we do put on another team game, The Allstars will be back to defend their title, so I suggest if you object to a team the league organisers put up being "allowed" to play, you don't bother putting your name forward for any pub that is brave enough to take us on in the future....
