Bristol Poker League Women's Championship Result
A field of 17 players sat down for our first ever womens only game in The Fire Engine on Saturday the 17th of September so 2 full tables of players started with a 10,000 starting stack and blinds of 20 minutes.
The finishing order was like this, with Claire Chickpea Taylor our first player out:
- 17 - Claire
- 16 - Rehan
- 15 - Bird - All in with Pocket 9's against Sarah's Ace-Queen. A Queen on the flop saw Sarah out in 15th
- 14 - Mad Jan - lost with pocket Jacks against Alexis and her King-Jack
- 13 - Vicky
- 12 - Lesley - looked in good shape with King-4 against Sarah's pocket 9's when the cards came out A-A-T-T but a killer 9 came on the river to send her out the game.
- 11 - Alexis - out v Anna-Marie
- 10 - Sarah - out with Q-9 against Q-J
We played a 9 handed final table.
- 9th - Paulina - Out with Ac-4c against Sam's pocket 6's on a 2 club flop.
- 8th - Karen - knocked out with Ace-Jack on an Ace high flop when Anna-Marie hit her flush on the turn with 7c-Tc
- 7th - Angie - another of Anna-Marie's victims
- 6th - Lyndsay - out in a MONSTER pot that saw Hayley storm into the Chip lead. Lyndsay went all in with pocket ten's Sammi moved all in over the top with pocket 9's and it folded round to Hayley who called for slightly less than Sam's stack with Ace-Jack. A raggy flop saw the two players with pairs stay in the lead, but an Ace on the turn saw Lyndsay leave and Sam be left with a very small stack.
- 5th - Sam unsurprisingly was next out with Ace-6 suited losing to Anna-Maries pocket 9's
- 4th - Lenny went out in 4th - making a move on the river on a suited board she ran into Jo who called with the straight. Lenny won £20
- 3rd - Jo went out in a 120k pot. By this time she and Anna Marie were well in front of Hayley, so when the chips went all in, it meant one of them was going to be huge chip leader.
Jo turned over Ace-King, Anna-Marie had pocket Queens for two top hands. Jo didn't hit and left in 3rd with £30
- 2 - Hayley - Hayley played a very aggressive heads up game and for a while I thought she was going to claw her way back to parity but it wasn't to be.
One final all in with Ace-9 on a 3-5-5 flop...
Was called by Anna-Marie and her pocket 4's. The 4's were good and we had a winner.
- The Winner - Anna-Marie Rogers
CONGRATLUATIONS TO ANNA MARIE. I think the game went well so will do it again in 2012.
